Astrid and Roberto share a deep passion for dogs. Lulo, their beloved pet, was a major inspiration in nurturing their dream of helping other animals. While they knew they wanted to make a difference, the path forward was uncertain.

In 2023, Astrid and Roberto traveled to Colombia to spend the holidays there. At the end of the trip, Astrid decided to extend her stay to spend more time with family and friends. During this time, she met Oscar, who turned out to be the missing link needed to establish their partnership and bring their vision to life.

After Astrid returned to the U.S., she reunited with her husband, Roberto, and shared her exciting experience. Inspired by her story, the couple arranged a virtual meeting with Oscar to discuss their shared vision in more detail. Oscar, who was also searching for passionate partners committed to helping animals, immediately resonated with Astrid and Roberto's aspirations.

As time went on, Oscar introduced Ricardo, a successful environmentalist in Colombia and a former colleague of his. Ricardo's expertise and dedication added even more strength to their budding partnership.

Everything began falling into place: regular meetings focused on defining their vision and mission, scoping the project's reach, brainstorming potential names, and developing branding strategies. The foundation for their shared dream was steadily taking shape.

On February 25 of 2024, Lulo suffered a sudden heart complication and passed away that night. The loss was devastating for Astrid and Roberto, leaving them heartbroken. The will and energy that had once fueled their aspirations seemed to vanish in the aftermath of their grief.

However, after going through a healing process, Astrid and Roberto found a way to channel their pain into love. They drew strength from that love, rekindling their determination and sense of purpose. With renewed focus and resilience, they decided to move forward, honoring Lulo’s memory by dedicating themselves fully to their mission.

In July 2024, after countless meetings, follow-ups, and sleepless nights, the foundation was officially born in Colombia. Its name was inspired by Lulo and the virtues he embodied: love, empathy, strength, and joy.

The foundation stands as a reflection of how Lulo lived his life—always giving his all to those who crossed his path. It is a testament to his spirit, carrying forward his legacy of unconditional love and care for others.
